At Harmony, we believe that great company culture and seamless collaboration start with the right tools—and for us, that tool is Slack. As a team of passionate builders, we've set out to create apps that help organizations foster connection, celebrate wins, and engage with one another more meaningfully, all within Slack.
How It All Began?
Harmony was born out of years of hands-on experience. We, the founders-Emel and Berkay, are seasoned product builders with a shared history of working in fast-paced, high-impact environments. Our journey started at Opsgenie, where we built tools to help teams respond to incidents faster. Later, we continued our collaboration at Atlassian, where we saw firsthand how culture and collaboration play a vital role in every company’s success.
During our time at these companies, Slack was our go-to tool for communication and collaboration. Over time, we started building custom Slack apps to streamline our workflows and bring our teams closer together. From incident management to coffee bet apps, these tools made our lives easier, kept us in Slack, and reduced the constant app-switching that interrupts focus.
We quickly realized that not every company is as fortunate as we were. Building custom Slack apps requires time, resources, and technical expertise-luxuries many organizations don’t have. We also noticed that the apps available in the Slack App Directory often didn’t meet companies’ needs: they were either hard to customize, overly expensive, or didn’t quite fit the purpose. That’s when we decided to take matters into our own hands.
